The MadCity Ski Club (MCSC) is an informal, web based organization for recreational downhill skiers. The majority of our members are located in Madison and Wisconsin. Our primary method of communication with members is a newsletter sent via email. In addition to the newsletter, news, trip albums and future ski trips will be posted to this web site.

Arrangements and details for ski trips are coordinated by Rick and Peggy Daluge of Daluge Travel, Madison, WI. In a normal year the MCSC would be planning a mountain ski trip out west. Details will be posted when they become available via our Newsletter and to our Trips/Events page.
Future of the Mad City Ski Club
History: The Madison Ski Club, a 501(c) organization, after a run of 50 years dissolved in late 2015. From 1998 to 2013 the Madison Ski Club offered 3 western trips serving 20-40 skiers plus a 3 1/2 day weekend bus trip to Lutsen. A non-refundable deposit was required typically by September – October. In addition the club provided a Quarterly Newsletter, late summer potluck picnic, and a Fall Liftoff party. Yearly dues were $30 single and $40 per family. Because not enough new members were joining, existing members were aging out and with a lack of volunteers to serve as officers, the Madison Ski Club was replaced with a website titled “The MadCity Ski Club”
⇒ With no dues we have a sizable membership. 100+ have joined since the summer of 2016. Total membership is roughly 150. But only a handful of the new members who’ve joined after 2016 have signed up for a trip in the last 8 ski season years.
⇒ Since the Covid pandemic in the winter of 2020, lodging and lift ticket rates have increased significantly. As there is sufficient wealth in the ski community, the more sought-after and popular resorts are pre-booked by spring and early summer.
Problems the MadCity Ski Club (MCSC) currently face are:
⇒ With no dues and no treasury the MCSC is unable to pre-book rooms 9 months in advance at a discounted rate. Without a treasury, an early non-refundable deposit would be necessary 6+ months in advance of a scheduled trip.
⇒ With no dues we have a sizable membership. 100+ have joined since the summer of 2016. Total membership is roughly 150. But only a handful of the new members who’ve joined after 2016 have signed up for a trip in the last 8 ski season years.
